Los Angeles, CA, May 17, 2017. Writer, producer and assistant director KOUSHIK is proud to present the World Premiere hilarious comedy THE NAKED YOGI! at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. A hilarious rom-com about a highly liberal minded Indian Yogi and a conservative female FBI agent in Trump’s America. The clashes of two completely opposite cultures and political views reflect the current state of our society. Post election the American society is highly divided. It does not matter how different we are in our ethnicity, languages, political views or sexual orientation, we are all human beings. Respect for our fellow citizens will help us make a great country and a beautiful world for our children! This play celebrates the human factor in the midst of a divided and angry society in the most hilarious way possible.

KOUSHIK (Dr. Koushik Chattopadhyay) holds a Ph.D. in Human Genetics but is currently a full time actor. He has worked in several feature films such as, “The Book of the Damned” where he plays an archaeologist, “I Believe” in which he plays a doctor, “Bloody Hands”, “Karma Dog” and “Above the High Road” are a few to name. He is well known for his role as Jamal Muti in “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” (also worked as a translator) produced by ABC and Buddha in “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman” by National Geographic. He was the main lead for a Hewlett Packard commercial and have got a lot of great reviews for his comedic presence in the Free Credit Report and Zip Recruiter commercials. He has been working consistently with Xoom to give voice over for their commercials. He is often seen performing sketch comedies and improvisation shows in IO West Theater. He writes sketch comedies on a regular basis for his YouTube channel (“INDIAN in HOLLYWOOD”: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJfDvPt-gwqBeILnPPeVBHg). This is the first time he has written a full length script which is out and right hilarious!
KOUSHIK is also a passionate yogi. He has been practicing yoga for over 25 years now. He started learning yoga in India when he was a child and made it a part of his lifestyle. He competed and won in several Yoga championships in India. Currently he is a yoga instructor at 24 Hour Fitness.
Roger K. Weiss is a veteran and well accomplished theater director. He has directed over 15 plays in various prominent theaters in the city. His directed plays have been given “Top 10” by StageRaw.com and “Go” by LA Weekly and have also won prestigious Scenie Award. He is also the sound designer for this play and have long experience in that field too.
