This show introduced me to someone new, myself. I was able to see a little of me in each character. It is full of emotion and left me feeling connected to each concern. I realize that at times our focus of self is off and too much negativity of self is created within our own mind. There is nothing wrong with us no matter what we look like or who we are. MisShapen gives us permission to love ourselves and to respect everyone for what makes us unique and wonderful. This was my third time seeing this play, every time I leave with a new message. I love the passion of the actors and their strong chemistry. Their connection makes the play more real, they really told the story well. I plan on seeing it again!...
MisShapen combines humor, music, and talent into this insightful play. The characters came alive as they addressed the serious issue of how body image affects everything that we do. The story is well woven with monlogues. Kudos to the bravery exhibited by the performers. My friend and I laughed and cried during this performance. If you only see one Fringe production in 2013, this is it!...
What a great ensemble cast taking on the hot topic of body image. Poems, monologues, short scenes, and songs tell the story of various people with body image problems. Humor and pathos combined with solid acting made for an enjoyable play....
I wasn't sure what to expect from this show. Considering its subject matter - the struggle with poor self-image caused by a proliferation of media about the "perfect" body - the cast delivered its message in startling clarity. This is raw theater, unpolished, yet powerful and profound in its message. You cannot help but be changed by this performance. Definitely check it out - but only if you want the truth, not the media hype....
Some truly honest and personal moments from the cast. I thought they did a great job of cutting the show from it's original 1:40 run time without sacrificing the message. I will say that I thought some of the through-line was lost. Gorgeous ending scene. ...
I saw this purely based on the "Oreo" monologue they presented during the Cabaret. What a surprise! Some parts were better than others, mostly based on sound levels, but they had me in tears with one character's journey near the beginning.
This troupe is one I want to keep on my radar for their brutal inner workings and bravery of theme. It certainly didn't touch everyone as deeply as me, but everyone should know this is how society and our actions/ marketing affects people's mental/physical health....
This show took what every person has thought about their body and put it on stage. I loved the actors and each story that was being told. The show made me laugh and cry! Great job everyone! That show was exactly what I needed to feel better about myself and my body....
Absolutely fantastic play with great performances.
I cried. Very powerful with a punch even as the short version.
Go see it!

I loved the show! All of the cast members did such a fantastic job in developing their characters.
I think I found myself identify a little bit with some part of what they said or did.
The subject matter is so appropriate right now with the pressure that the media puts on all ages to fit an image that is unobtainable. If the same media could reverse that for people to understand that we're all okay and beautiful just the way we are.
It was thought provoking, made me laugh, cry and want to tell my friends to come and see.
Community Theater is so special and unique and we all need to come and experience and support this.
Thumbs up- Waaaay Up for Misshapen!!!
I hope the message can continue to grow across to bigger s...
