Ligature Marks by Mac Rogers is a brilliant marriage of strong, intense, specific acting, simple but precise directing and fast, insightful, witty writing. The quirkiness of the story is reminiscent of Woody Allen meeting Sam Shepard. On the strength of the substance of the material and the execution by all involved, this is another great show to see here in the Hollywood Fringe Festival.... full review

LIGATURE MARKS is like a perfect little string quartet, polished and unique and unforgettable. These characters stick with you long after the show ends, and the the structure is rock-solid, & modern without artifice. I have rarely seen two actors more perfectly matched in their ability to create vivid characters without breaking a sweat. Don't overlook this show in it's slightly out-of-the-way venue (a wonderfully snug & comfortable Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre). Have patience with the first act, this is a play that builds and builds in its ability to put its hands around your neck.... full review

Wonderfully intriguing show that unfolds like an intricately wrapped gift. The wonderfully energetic performers are an excellent fit with the deftly written script, which balances the familiarity of carefully-drawn characters with the surprises of an ingeniously conceived plot. Funny, with the right amount of disturbing, and the well-crafted mixture of light and dark results not in a dull gray, but to a vivid and enthralling contrast.... full review

I feel like this is one of the best shows at Fringe that not enough people are seeing...and there are only two performances left (tonight and Wednesday). This is truly what super smart, brilliantly written dark comedy is all about. The two somewhat damaged (aren't we all?) "losers" in this play (acted perfectly) are going to stick with me for a while. I seriously can't shake this play and I can't recommend it enough. Soooo good!! I think they only have two shows left before they head off to the D.C. Fringe festival so GO SEE IT!!!... full review

After years of hearing Jon Ecklund Fiona Jones and all of manhattan theatre source rave about Mac Rogers I finally got to see a Mac play, Ligature Marks at the Hollywood Fringe. I'm thrilled to say Mac lives up to his reputation. The play was ver creative and so captivating the hour and a half flies by. Absolutely loved the show! One more left this Wednesday at 8:30pm before he leaves LA. Go see it!... full review

GO SEE THIS SHOW. Holy crap, it was awesome. Sizzling dialogue, spot-on acting and a brilliantly-executed story that tickles your morbid curiosity as you watch this co-dependent train-wreck of a relationship unfold. Do not miss this play.... full review

Rebecca and Mac were simply astounding...their ability to draw an audience in with the dialogue they either memorized, or simply was them "in the part," was phenomenal. The subject was perhaps a bit uncomfortable, if one does not want to see someone who is over the top submissive, but the end of the play ***spoiler alert*** pretty much dispels that. The "Inception"-like plot is pretty neatly done also...and has a really good lesson learned takeaway, I feel. For as much speaking as there is, I was happy to be able to understand clearly what they were saying...granted, a basic want, but after seeing 2 other Fringe plays earlier in the day that weren't up-to-snuff insofar as enunciation went, it was really appreciated.
