This dynamic one person many character show pays tribute to the world of Jules Fieffer(sp). Melissa is a force to be reckoned with. She takes us on a journey that reconstructs a world of images, sounds, and fluid movements that conjure up the emotional journey of a Dancer who dreams the impossible... and achieves her dream through hard work hard times dumb luck and damn good dancing...The space is small and intimate... Melissa's focus and power draw you in close enough to feel like you're part of the journey and not just an audience member. Welcome to the world of A Woman of the Hat... ... full review

I really enjoyed watching Melissa's strong and beautiful dancer's body tell the story of Rose and Ruth. She's so articulate, precise and fluid, subtle and bold as she tells the tale of reaching her Chorus Line dream only to be heartbroken with loss. Her staging is creative and dynamic. Onstage costume changes, miniature tea sets, a chair that sees a lot of "action," red, red cloth and of course, that hat. Lovely show!!! Go see it!! ... full review

Loved the performance. Engaging poignant smart moving sexy. Great writing and choreography. Will never forget the chair dance and the way music was used as dialogue.... full review
