Gutsy, genuine and genius! A wonderful narrative of personal confessions, fashion history, and hilariously relatable songs like "Dressing Room Breakdown!" Every dress has a personality, but Brenda strips that all away and shows her true self - by way of some wonderfully witty lyrics! Highly recommend this honest, entertaining and truly FUN piece!... full review

Loved this original work! What appears to be about "frivolous" fashion on the surface actually digs into the history of The Dress, its place in our society, and how a simple piece of fabric can change how we women feel about ourselves and our perceived desirability. It also delves into how we sometimes discard facets of ourselves to become new people; i.e. trying on new personas when we try on new dresses and discarding old personas with our old clothing. All in the space of 57 minutes. And, of course, the music was impossibly catchy and entertaining. Thank you, Ms. Varda!... full review

Extremely clever, witty, fun and brave (she wears an amazing undergarment through much of the show). Terrific songs. The dresses Brenda had in her closet but never wore are so great. What I loved about the show is that it was not just the obvious statement about how being a slave to fashion is superficial, but it goes deeper into the meaning of self. Loved it. A truly fresh, original, and unexpected work from an artist who has plenty to share and a talent that puts it all in just the right setting. Each time I caught myself pigeonholing her, comparing her to other actresses, I came up short; she is NOT like any other actress, and here in L.A., where every server has a resume, that is the highest compliment of all.... full review
