This show has managed to take almost every classic theatre convention in the book: Shadow/light box visuals, puppetry, scale, music, spectacle, dance, poetry -- and merge them into a really beautiful piece. Aristotle would be proud.
Like torn chapters out of a book, we follow true origin stories of women from folklore who have been victimized, damned to eternity, wrongfully accused and overall, screwed over. The amount of talent on that stage is second to none. I think there were around 12-15 people (including the band) and each one of them had their own highlights during the show.
With that many people on a small stage, you might think there was some frantic chaos, but it was definitely the opposite. What you did see was wonderfully orchestrated choreography that will make you be in awe of the intricacies of people weaving. It’s a beautiful thing to see and experience.
