Soulful, raw, engaging. MY JANIS is an emotional whirlpool. The show opens with a powerful but still "dance" that almost felt like a spiritual conjuring and drags you into the world that Veronesi's Janis intimately inhabits, almost like a ghost. The room in which the show is set feels like you're actually in Janis Joplin's head and Arianna Veronesi's vibrant interpretation guides the audience through the highs and lows of this charismatic woman's fears, hopes and dreams. A very sophisticated character study. I would definitely recommend it....
