Review by VICTOR SOTOMAYOR

June 02, 2018

What I liked

I liked that Jason didn’t turn it into a campy parody and stayed true to Judy Garland’s recordings from 1964 to 1967, introducing the audience into her living room and making us listen to the words just as she had recorded herself.
Jason must have spent countless hours listening to Judy Garland’s recordings to get the right rhythm and emotions expressed in her recordings.

What I didn't like

I wanted to hear some more of the actual recordings. I got a teaser at the opening but then it was all Jason from there on.

My overall impression

Jason embodies Judy in such raw honesty that reveals a side of the actress that nobody cared to explore before. In her own words. In her terms.
