What I liked

“Nickel Dickers” is a 45 minute show based off a piece originally written for a 20 minute play competition. That original 20 minutes is very entertaining, focusing on two foul-mouthed, sexist, racist producers who speaking entirely in period dialogue to great comedic effect.

What I didn't like

Unfortunately, it’s PAINFULLY obviously when that original 20 minutes ends. The second half is awful, pulling focus from the leads to add new characters that I didn’t find remotely funny. There’s still the occasional funny line, but I spent most of the time wondering how much more I had to sit through before the show ended.

My overall impression

The first half was great, the second half was mostly garbage.

ORANGUTAN is a haunting and absurd one-woman show about the mother of a brutish (slightly orange) would-be dictator, and the tribalism that’s tearing our country apart.

Too Blunt!

Kelvin Blunt's solo show recounts his journey to weight loss, childhood crushes, and modern dating. Kelvin unpacks the intersectionality of race and sexual orientation--and pays homage to his mom and Janet Jackson. Use the code TOOBLUNT for $10 tix.
