A beautifully designed version of the classic play, making good use of a simple set and wonderfully executed soundtrack. The piece is tackled with style and intelligence. Be forewarned, the plot involves sexual infidelity, religion, STDs, potential incest and mercy killing. Let’s face it, this play is a downer.... full review

Imagine going to a museum, in which all of the statues of a particular era came to life and played out a gripping moment in history right before your eyes. Now imagine that you become part of that history when they invite you into their world, no questions asked. That's what immersive theatre is and that is what Jonghee Woo achieved in his immersive rendition of Ibsen's Ghosts at the Thymele Theatre last night. A beautiful interpretation of such ugly subject matter, Woo reminds us that these issues transcend the generations; a timeless tribute to those who fought against backward social (and spiritual) mores and lost.... full review

Putting aside Ghosts: A Whole New Immersive Theatre’s misleading title, and approaching this review as if it were a non-immersive play; the conclusion draws to be the same thing: Skip It LA... Overall, this felt like a museum piece that didn’t know how to resonate with a modern audience, so it added unnecessary and ineffective gimmicks to try and hide itself.
