What I liked

Very strong script and direction! Loved the entrance/beginning of the show. Ashley’s vocal and physical character work is so specific, and she really takes her time to be so.

What I didn't like

I liked it all. The only thing I can think of is ending the show with Ashley coming back into her own body, but I appreciate the strong statement Victoria ended it with.

My overall impression

Honestly, I did not know what to expect going into the show. I loved it! Ashley Ford commands the stage with her wonderful storytelling! A true professional! She is compelling to watch and gives a very moving performance! She beautifully embodies the characters! The show flew by because I was so entranced by the script, lighting design and of course, Ashley’s strong acting! Not to mention she tells a story that is so relavant to today’s society. Beautifully done by all involved!

SACRED FOOLS brings 3 new shows to HFF19

A devised adaptation of a Greek classic about corruption, weakness & power; a hilarious tale of a highly-trained marksman/history teacher; and a heartwarming comedy about an overbearing stage mother and her hapless son attempting to stage a comeback

A show beyond this reality? A one-man cabaret about never, EVER fitting in. Told through four days in the 90's. Described as, "Reinventing the form," "amateur," "musically outstanding," "a waste of time," "earnest, heartbreaking, & real."
