"Ask a Black Woman" is a masterclass in solo performance, and Shanara Sanders is a master at her craft. She is tapped into both herself and the Big Picture in a potent and omnipotent way.... full review

The show was.... SPECTACULAR! As a black gay man with a name like DeAubrey, I strongly felt and resonated with the topics and themes of Shanara's show. I laughed, clapped, grunted, and sniffed back legit tears. It's in your face, and its assertive. There is no way to watch her performance and leave with any questions regarding what her intentions were, and what she was pointing out to all non-black women. SEE US. HEAR US. RESPECT US. LOVE US. GET TO KNOW US. BEFORE YOU JUDGE US. Us = Black women.... full review

Shanara Mouthpiece Sanders gave a powerfully impactful performance! She flowed artfully between prose and spoken word, dancing, singing, and unapologetically spitting truths. I’d gladly come see her perform again!... full review

Absolutely stellar show. I would watch this again. Shanara knocks it out of the park the second she walks onto that stage. She is fierce, unabashed, brave. This show is important because it is about a woman reclaiming her time and space in a world that so often takes those from her. Thank you Shanara for gifting us with these stories.... full review

I went last night, to support this young woman's artistry. I was thoroughly entertained, and definitely was on the "I IDENTIFY TOO MUCH" list. I felt she told too much of Black women's "business"! * screaming laughter * This babygirl is hilarious, gifted at her impersonations, REAL AND RAW AND CHICAGO-ON-DOWN! Shanara is precious. I am looking forward to supporting her work through the years ahead. Very gifted young woman. Poet, actress, songstress, comedian, etc! ... full review

Ask A Black Woman is raw, authentic, heart-breaking - a story that needs to be told. Shanara’s fast-paced and energetic delivery entertains, but more importantly it educates and enlightens her audience. You won’t see anything else like this at the Fringe. Don’t miss it!... full review
