So hilarious and expertly crafted! I laughed the whole time while being amazed by the all the anecdotes. I was really impressed by the performance - super smart, charismatic, and self-aware. ... full review

One of my favorite shows at Fringe. Kirkland's story about how he became (for a time) obsessed and convinced by various YouTube conspiracy theories is utterly compelling. It's well written, well directed, and really well performed. ... full review

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I came to see this show. Leaving it, I'm -still- not entirely certain what I saw. Was this a show trying to persuade me the earth is flat (which I don't believe based on my OWN experiments as a kid)? Does the author still actually even believe that? An insightful, honest, funny and at times slightly unnerving look at how easily one can be sucked into conspiracies and harmful cults. It feels so intimate and familiar that by the end you are left satisfied if not a tad paranoid. I mean that in the best of ways.... full review

With mass information coming at us through our devices and from all sides—presidents shouting "Fake news!," Tsunami triggered nuclear meltdowns, magic bullet theories, and a daily deluge of other potential (and actual) conspiracies (“My Internet's down! I'm blocked out my emails! Am I hacked? Is it the Russians?” ) it's no wonder that were don't already believe that up is down, right is left, or right is wrong. ... full review

James Kirkland is a lovable kook and he presents his tales of getting sucked into various cult-like activities less like a performer and more of a storyteller. Director Brendan Hunt and producer Kristen Boule are each Fringe veterans and any project they attach their names to is worthy of your attention. Lord of the Lies is no exception. Check it out!... full review
