“Hello America” (Inspired by For Colored Girls who considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf" & “For Black Boys who considered Homicide when the streets were too much”) is Brandon Rainey’s newest production and the most unique of all the scripts. This is a story written in three parts. Part One (chronicling the life of 7 men) is the current version and was first presented as workshops in front of sold out shows in 2014 at Greenway Court Theater, UCLA, USC & American Conservatory Theater. “Hello America” makes no apologies as it address issues of identity, purpose, sexuality, spirituality, love, lust and fatherhood while intentionally painting a picture of being a black man in America. The unconventional way of telling this story takes audiences on an emotional roller coaster with moments of laughter, tears and frustration. Students are admitted for $12- Use Code: students.
