An international fringe favorite in the bold performance style called Bouffon, Red Bastard is a subversively hilarious R-rated melding of performance art, interactive improv, stand-up comedy and physical clowning under the guise of a master class in acting. The bulbous and rude ruby-hued comic character is a creation of Eric Davis, a Cirque du Soleil clown and winner of the 2009 Golden Nose for New York’s Clown of the Year.

Red Bastard is a Dangerous, Seductive, Comedy Monster!

His mission: to charm, disarm, shock and seduce.
His target: you.

Red Bastard is not clown. He is not here to please you. He has come to make you surrender.

Experience this exquisite monstrosity as he delicately leads you through a no-holds-barred class – demanding to know nothing less than the existential query, “Who the hell do you think you are?” Lines will be crossed and laughs will be had in this interactive feast of biting wit, mischievous improvisation, and physical prowess.

Audiences should be prepared for anything to happen in this interactive show, in which Red Bastard engages the audience in raw conversation, uncovering ridiculous and disturbing truths.
