Erik Blair

Erik is a writer/director/actor/improv performer who has been working in, on and behind the scenes of theatrical productions since he was in high school. With a B.S. in Theater (Northwestern) and an M.F.A. in Film/Video Production (USC), over 100 productions as a director and nearly as many as an actor, Erik has spent a life building creative experiences for audiences of all ages. He even built and ran a theater in Texas for three years—meaning there isn’t a job in theater that he hasn’t done multiple times.

This is Erik’s fourth year at HFF and his third as a creator bringing a production to the festival through his production company, They Played Productions (of which he is one-half of the creative force along with his theatrical partner, Thea Rivera). In 2016, they brought the werewolf rock musical “Nothing Bad” to Fringe for its world premiere. Last year, they brought the Almighty Creator Itself to Studio/Stage with the Fringe Freak nominated immersive production “God: The Apologies Tour”.

This year, they’re back with a new immersive horror production, “Internal.” Erik cannot wait to see how solo audiences respond to a zombie apocalypse on the streets of Hollywood…
