The twenty-four year old actor/writer/producer and Oregon native moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2009 immediately after finding success in an acting class he took while pursuing creative writing during his time at Portland State University in Portland, OR. During his first two years in Los Angeles, Cal studied acting and starred in over fifteen independent and short productions before writing and independently producing his first short film titled Plunge in the summer of 2011, igniting his passion for developing and producing his own material. Since then, Cal has written nine original, full-length, feature screenplays intended for production, Hollywood Legit, Rose City, Pland, The Academic Northwest, The Last Drop, RISE (adapted), TwentySomething Portland, OR, the upcoming ‘Sunset Moves,’ and ‘Seth and Mason Sell A Screenplay,’ all of which reflect his unique, stylistic approach to modern storytelling, as well as a stage play, ‘RISE,’ which has recently been optioned for screen development and was nominated for four awards, including ‘Best World Premiere,’ which it won at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Armed with an acute ear for dialogue and a fresh vision for the world of independent filmmaking, acting, and writing, Cal is very excited about his first independent feature ‘Sunset Moves,’ that is set to begin filming in early 2013. Sunset Moves and Seth and Mason Sell a Screenplay will be Cal’s first starring roles in feature films.
