Robert Carlton Stimmel is a Cincinnati, Ohio native who strives to gain as much knowledge and experience in the theatrical arts as possible. From directing to designing or from being an actor to a technician, he works in every sector of theatre to have a better understanding of the art form and process, while learning new insights with each project to collaborate with others and gain a greater understanding of the world at large in a more effective way.
As the Artistic Director of Impaired Vision Productions, he is so very excited to be working on their first original piece, Earworm.
He has most recently worked with Town Hall Theatre in Centerville, Ohio as a Lighting Designer (Fancy Nancy’s Splendiferous Christmas and Curious George), Queen City Theater in the Greater Cincinnati area as their Lighting & Sound Designer, and Technical Director for the 2017-2018 season (Typhoid Mary, Two Old Black Guys Just Sitting Around Talking, The Body of an American), and Tantrum Theatre as a part of their Production Management Team and a Lead Carpenter(Midsummer, Caroline or Change, Into the West) During his time at Miami University, where he received his B.A.in Theatre, he directed, designed, and performed in multiple productions, in order to progress towards rounding out his artistic wheelhouse.
Recent Performing Credits include: Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (Christmas Carol, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Rapunzel, Antigone, Rikki Tikki Tavi) Short North Stage (The Fantasticks, The Normal Heart) Alliance Theatre (Eavesdropping) Know Theatre (Serials & Serials: Bingewatch) Queen City Theater (Typhoid Mary) and many others in addition to working on many commercials and short films in the Cincinnati area.
